“All blame is a waste of time. No matter how much fault you find with another, and regardless of how much you blame him, it will not change you. The only thing blame does is to keep the focus off you when you are looking for external reasons to explain your unhappiness or frustration. You may succeed in making another feel guilty about something by blaming him, but you won’t succeed in changing whatever it is about you that is making you unhappy.”

What Should I Be Doing?
First think of your website like a business card. You go to a graphic designer and get some business cards and start handing out your business cards to everyone. It is the same with getting exposure to your website. After I have put everything in place it is now up to you to get traffic as well.
Start by telling everybody about your new website and get them to go and have a look. You want as much “traffic” (people visiting) as possible. The more traffic you get the more attention search engines will pay to it.
Another good thing is to have as many links to and from your site as possible. It is another way to get traffic to your site. Social Media is a great way to do this plus get exposure about your product. Link to other people with the same interests and try to get them to link back to your site. (This is something that should be considered when you are getting your site designed)
Your own IP Address/Domain Name
If you want to be found by the search engines then it is best to have your own domain name or IP Address. If you are getting a “FREE” hosting service, the search engines are looking at their IP address. The cost of domain names these days is extremely reasonable, something like $10.00/yr. which anyone can afford. Spending the extra money on a domain name is well worth the money.
You make your website visible to the world through a web hosting service. They are companies who provide space on a server and charge a fee for doing so. There are all kinds of web hosting companies out there, but you should look for one who can provide the kind of services you will require for your particular needs. In other words if you are mainly interested in blogging find someone who includes some kind of blogging software on their control panel.
In Consumer Rankings.com these are the most popular web hosting service providers: Bluehost, iPage, FatCow, Just.Host.com, Host Monster, InMotion Hosting, HostGator, GoDaddy, StartLogic, and Register.com
Check them out and see what they offer and what their prices are.

Building your first website?
This can be overwhelming if you know absolutely nothing about website design. My first suggestion would be to look at some websites. This can be helpful in giving you some ideas about your own website. Check out some webdesigners and look at the services they are offering, their portfolio and prices.
If I don’t find this information on someone’s pages then I move on to someone that does give me prices. Maybe this is just a personal preference, I don’t know, but to me, when pricing information is left out, it is just a tactic to make you contact them in hopes they will get a sale.
Golden Rule: Don’t waste the client’s time.
Once you have looked at some web pages & webdesigners, you should have some first impressions.
Some of the questions you may be asking yourself what are all these technical terms these webdesigners are using?
SEO (Search Engine Optimization)
This is probably the most important part of designing a website. SEO is simply making your site “search engine friendly”. Without this the search engines cannot find you and your site will not show up in webpage searches
A good webdesigner will always include this as part of their services. If they don’t, time to move on.
SEO is part of my services and I will never charge you extra for this service. Although I make sure your site meets all of the requirements of good SEO, there are things you must do to ensure your site gets higher rankings with the search engines.
Higher rankings just means how often your site is getting seen and the more often it is seen the higher rankings it will get. The higher your rankings the more likely you will show up near the beginning of a search.
Simply what happens with search engines is this: they “crawl” the web and spider sites, which then get indexed. Once that happens your site becomes visible on the internet and can be searched.
